Scientific discovery is the foundation for source technology.

What is source technology? Why is it so important? Why do we look for it? And, why is it the only thing we focus on creating at RustWorks?

Source technology often emerges from paradigm shifts or new perspectives in scientific investigation. Source technology is a technology that is at the core of other technological developments. It exists as the Parent in parent/child relationships. Source technology often gives birth to whole new industries and business models.

Historic examples of source technology include the internal combustion engine and the electric distribution system.  The internal combustion engine gave birth to the automotive industry and other industries such as the airline industry. Without it none of these industries would have likely emerged.

From source technologies, industries are developed. Within various industry models,  businesses are developed. For example, within the automotive industry there are tire stores, machine shops, auto-dealers, and more.  Each of these are based entirely on, and in some way provide an integral piece to, the overall industry model.

At RustWorks we try to develop 'intentional' industry models -- models that are compatible with the higher goals of preserving the planet, ensuring existential rights, while at the same time serving to answer some global challenge.

In other portions of this site we spend more time talking about the matrices of issues confronted by the inhabitants of this planet in the 21st century. To read more go here.

One of the current projects at RustWorks builds on foundational source technologies developed during more than 12 years of R&D  in human information processing and the human growth process. This project, the 3rg Gen web project, is designed to promote education and global access to education.
